Stop accounts being created before payment

Recommended Posts

I know I am just being stoopid here but I can't find how to stop accounts from being created when a customer orders a product but doesn't pay for it.

In Products/Services -> {edit the product} -> Module Settings (tab) -> I have:

Automatically setup the product as soon as the first payment is received set to on.

This works fine and the package (a hosting package) doesn't get created but the clients account does even though they haven't yet paid.

Where is the setting for this?

Ah, I have jsut found: "Allow Client Registration" in General Settings -> other

Is this the option that I need to de-select?

Thanks.

You won't be able to make it so they don't register as a client until they pay, plus you probably don't even want to do that because say a customer's CC doesn't work and they plan on paying for it tomorrow when they have another one...they would have to go back through the whole process again just to pay when if they have an account all they have to do is login and pay for it.

I tend to contact the customer the following day and ask if they encountered an issue or require assistance to complete an order

If there is no reply within 7 days then I suspend that account

That way if the same customer comes back they cannot process another order

If you had deleted the account then they could do the same again
