Client Cities Mapper for WHMCS

- Want to show off your Client base?

- New Users are unsure of service availability or coverage area in their specific region?

- Conversions getting down, since maybe the Clients isn't aware of your presence?

- Want an easy way to tell where in the world your data centers, support centers, etc. are? (to be implemented)

- You are a big host in an individual country covering all major cities, and want new non-native users to know about this and develop their trust level?

Client City Mapper is a WHMCS Client Area module, which maps all the cities in the world, where you have you clients. Thus, letting you, effectively, display your coverage areas, or maybe you just want to show off your Client Base.

However, Client City Mapper was born more to deal with one primitive usage : connecting with the new Users : yes, now new users to your services can see the areas where you are already providing your services and hence, connect with you more easily.

Assume for a minute, you are a sufficiently large provider in a particular country, lets say, Sweden. Now, when a new user comes to use your services, you can show a map of all the cities in Sweden where you are already providing your services. Simple and Sweet.

Feature List:

  • Maps Client Cities for your WHMCS Install
  • Auto Center and Auto Zoom enabled - Map will always be displayed optimally.
  • Display all cities or display cities from selected countries
  • Add or Remove Countries via POST
  • Skip certain clients from Map, optionally.
  • Hook added: On client update, client location is updated on Map, as well.
  • New Clients will be added to Map, instantly.
  • Caching Implemented: Since, Google Maps Geocoder allows 2500 requests per IP, caching implemented to avoid Geocoding requests, as much as possible.
  • Fully Documented

Planned Features:

The following features are planned for the future releases of Client Cities Mapper:

  • Allow a configuration option to (optionally) center map on visitor's country only on visit – IP based.
  • Let visitor search for a particular area using a textbox, and map automatically displays cities for selected region – Continent, Country, or State.
For cities, if clients exist – display city, else set map to display state.
  • Let, Admins display particular locations on the map with a different marker icon (e.g. to display server locations, support center locations, etc.)
  • Create an additional map to display client density areas, rather.
  • Create a simple admin module to setup configuration options for the map (rather than updating the module configuration file via hand)

Demo

A demo can be seen on: http://wickeddevelopers.com/clients/maps/citymap.php

The demo is set to show clients from restricted countries only. This is optional, and can also be edited at runtime via POST method.

Most of the settings are easy to update via the configuration file for the map.

Hey Factor,

You can not have two maps on the same page.. You can, however, alternate between these two options:

1. Copy all the files in /maps/ folder to a folder e.g. /maps/world/ and set the setting for this map in mapconfig.php... You can also rename the citymap.php in both these folders to index.php

And, this will leave you with: /maps/ (or, if you prefer, /maps/spain/) pointing to map of Spain, and /maps/world/ pointing to map of whole World.

2. On the same page (/maps/citymap.php), you can use a button - Switch to World Map, and set it to remove Spain from the country list, effectively emptying it, and hence, displaying the whole world.. Steps for this have been mentioned at the end of README file.

Let me know, if that helps.. I will, further, be available to help on this issue via Support Tickets :)

Regards

Nikhil Gupta

Ya, that is nice; I just tried vieiwing the hyperlinks in the OP and got "Account Suspended". Based on that, I would have to say, I am rather hesitant of purchasing this (when the site is back up that is) if it is encoded and/or licensed with call-backs of any kind.

Hey Scott,

Seems like the dbconnect.php (which is included in WHMCS), is unable to find the "lang/" folder on your installation, which is rather strange, while it is able to do so for other includes.

Can you please open a support ticket with us, stating the location of your 'lang/' folder, and I will udpate you with the fix, asap.

I apologize for the delay in v2.0 of the Module.

I am working on it, and the module is in early beta.

All existing clients will be emailed, as soon as I am pleased with the beta version (which should be in a day or two maximum).

A lot of new features have been added to this version, esp. multiple Map Support, with custom configurations for each map and easy management of these maps. Equally important addition is that Maps will now be available as Widgets, which will allow easy adding of Maps, anywhere you prefer.

A comprehensive user Guide will be available with the Module, and also a detailed post will follow soon.

Also, if there is any feature you might want to include, please open a ticket in client area, and I will make sure to include it in v2.0

Regards

Nikhil Gupta.

v2.0 has been released. And, the corresponding WHMCS thread can be found here!

I request everyone to start any discussions on the above thread, since v1.0 is now being officially dropped for various reasons.

I assure you that v2.0 is a much needed and feature-rich release with various options to help you customize your Client Maps along with easy management.
