Portal Side-menu Background Color

I am changing the style on the Portal theme and have not had success finding a way to change the background color of the ENTIRE side-menu. I change the color in this line in style.css:

 

#side_menu{background-color:#e7ebec;border-left:1px solid #CFE2FF;float:right;margin:0;padding:15px;text-align:left;width:219px;}

 

Changing the color in the line works except for the bottom part of the side-menu. Here is an example:

 

 

Can anyone point me to the code to change the background color for the lower part of the side-menu?

Found the code and am leaving info here for others. The color is controlled by this asset "content_container_bg.gif" that is referenced in content_container line in the template style sheet.

How to change the position of content_container_bg.gif to left side , i mean for the LTR mode menu-side float shod be on the Left and content_container_bg.gif for the lower part should be on the left , so how can i change the position ???
