We are looking to purchase a new management system as our existing one, although highly customised and modified is a bit old now and the cost of revamping it completely is alot compared to investing in an “off the shelf package”. So WHMCS is one that we are looking at and although it does a great deal more than our existing system, it seems to not fulfil the following areas and therefore if it is possible for someone to program these I would be willing to pay.
If WHMCS does any of this currently I would be very grateful for some guideance.
I see that this has been discussed on many occasions and it sort of can be done via promo codes, but I think many people agree this solution is not ideal. There are 3 existing columns for Domain Prices, New, Transfer, Renewal, I would have thought it would be straightforward to add a fourth “With Hosting Price” but without knowing the system, it is hard to comment on that 100%
2) Client group discounts
I see that this has also been discussed at great lengths, for about 2 years on one of the threads I read. Our existing system works on a simple matrix.

If you can imagine a 3 x 3 matrix and a discount percentage given to each value, 5, 10, 30 etc
When the product is set up it is given a product type and when the client is setup, they are given a client type. During the order process the system checks these values and applies the necessary discounts.
We have many Resellers that register domains on behalf of clients. From this thread it seems that the whois can be changed at a later date. However, for UK domains once a domain is registered Nominet charge £15 + vat plus alot of paperwork to change the Registrant name.
4) Tying Up Number of years for domain and hosting
Because of some domains we sell, some of the hosting packages are only available for purchase for 2 years at a time. On the testing I have done of WHMCS it seems you can make the product only be available for 2 years, however the domain can be registered for 1 – 10 years. So if someone purchased a hosting plan for 2 years and a domain for one, they would end up with having multiple renewal invoices.
