frisco
Do the settings for packages in the server control panel (I use cpanel) need to match the settings in the products for WHMCS? If they vary, which one "wins" when a new account is set up? If I manually increase the quota for disk and bandwidth for a hosting account on the server's control panel, or I add existing hosting accounts into WHMCS that have previously been manually increased, will WHMCS attempt to reset the hosting account to package defaults? Thanks -- Bill
Dominic Quick
Yes bill they do. Its a requirement for importing accounts currently in your whm. Dom
frisco
Thanks Dom -- how about part 2 -- what happens if I manually go in and bump someone's quota up without changing the package? Any unexpected results? And do I just need to have matching names, or do I need to fill in all the details regarding number of email accounts, etc., before I bring the accounts into WHMCS?
Dominic Quick
You would need to edit the whole package. You are allowed to limit the bandwidth or disk space directly from whm but other than that you cant do much from the admin area as it relies on the whm features quite alot. The names have to be matching as in your WHM under packages. Use the following format: name_packagename it must be identical when importing. WHMCS CEO Matt Posted March 18, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted March 18, 2007 Hi Bill, Dominic is incorrect on a few issues here so to clarify: Do the settings for packages in the server control panel (I use cpanel) need to match the settings in the products for WHMCS? No, you can just enter the package name in WHMCS and it will use the details from WHM - or you can enter the variables in WHMCS for each quota option and then they will be used. If I manually increase the quota for disk and bandwidth for a hosting account on the server's control panel, or I add existing hosting accounts into WHMCS that have previously been manually increased, will WHMCS attempt to reset the hosting account to package defaults? Again the answer is no. If you change an account manually, only if you use the Package Upgrade/Downgrade feature in WHMCS will it change it. Dominic Quick
Sorry frisco. Thats the way i usually do it. Makes security tighter but statistics messier. Dom
frisco
No problem -- but glad to see I don't need to enter all that stuff on dozens of packages not being used for new accounts anymore!
