Becoming a registered client (or an affiliate) without first ordering some product

Hi,

 

This might be a stupid question but, how do I set WHMCS so that visitors to my website would be able to sign up and become a member (of the Client Area), so that they can sign up to become an affiliate, without them having to order something from me first? In other words, what do I need to set so that they can register themselves to become members of the Client Area, so that they can register themselves to become affiliates?

 

Currently, it seems as though they cannot become affiliates without being a registered member first. And they cannot become a member without ordering something from me first.

You should be able to send them to:

Remember to also enable registration... Setup -> General Settings -> Other -> Allow Client Registration then users can access the register.php page...

I've already done what Rob has explained here, or so it seems, because that particular setting is already set to what it should be. Maybe it's the default setting, and maybe THAT'S why it's already set to let clients register.

 

I didn't know about the http://...../whmcs/register.php link though. I knew that one way or another, clients need to be able to register without buying from me first. I guess I was expecting a link of some sort to show up in the Client Portal...

There will also be a link in there client area once they register in the top menu labeled "Affiliates" and all they need to do then is click that link to signup for your Affiliates Program

You have to add the register link to the footer.tpl and then it will show up there. I have mine at the top above portal Home.
