Domain Registration

It is technically possible because Godaddy does have an API to register domains through your own site.

The only problem is that such an API account with Godaddy is terribly expensive, so it's not really worth while.

If you want to automate it then you better go through Directi or Enom.

I started with a Wild West Domains. Which is in fact a GoDaddy operation. I have researched and Matt researched it for me as well. Cost wise, it's just not a good business solution. One rep told me $2000 to fund your account and another told me something less but still it's not worth it. Matt would even have to pay the same fees just to get the api to work with.

If you want to do your registrations manually. You can save .95 US per most registrations if you have a GoDaddy or Wild West Domain Pro Account at $200 USD annually. For the privilege of working more...

eNom or Directi is the way for automated registrations. You can sign up for a free Directi account via WHMCS and pay 7.95 for the common domains. You still have to fund the account first and I think the minimum is probably $100 maybe $150. That's a lot less than $2,000! PLUS the annual $200 fee!!!!

Just a correction on Roger's post about DirectI, with the free account we offer from DirectI, there is no minimum funding amount. You can add just the amount of one domain registration to your account via PayPal and begin registering domain names instantly.

So I do not understand with DirectI, I don't have to pay any fees upfront? When the customer pays me, then will WHMCS order the domain so that it takes the funds out of my PayPal account, or will it take the money out of our Bank Account? Also, what is the link to this DirectI website, I get this page ( http://www.resellerclub.com/pricing/#domain-registration-pricing ) but it has a first time cost, which is allot cheaper then GoDaddy.

Thanks,

Garrett
