WHMCS CEO Matt Posted February 24, 2010 WHMCS CEO Share Posted February 24, 2010 V4.2 Feature Previews: Mass Payments & Domain Renewals In this preview, we'll be looking at 2 new features which expand and enhance your opportunies for collecting payments. Firstly allowing customers to pay multiple invoices in one go, and secondly allowing customers to order 1 or more domain renewals through the shopping cart any time they wish. V4.2 Feature Preview: Mass Invoice Payments The new Mass Payments feature is an additional setting which can be turned on in order to allow clients to pay for multiple due invoices in a single payment attempt. This has 2 main advantages: 1. It's easier for the customer ...and... 2. It reduces your transaction fees So when enabled, the client sees their due invoices as below with new checkboxes next to them, a Pay Selected button to click after selecting the invoices they want to pay, and a Pay All quick link next to the total due. Following making the invoice selections and continuing to the next step, the customer is presented with a summary of all the selected invoices, each line item they contain, the total tax due, credits applied, and any partial payments already made, and then the final total due. If they are happy to proceed, they simply choose their desired payment method for the 3 invoices and submit at which point they will see the screen below and get taken to their payment method of choice. V4.2 Feature Preview: Domain Renewals Existing customers who visit the cart will now see a new category, called "Domain Renewals". Within this section, they will be able to see all the Active & Expired domains they have with you, the days until expiry and the options which they have for renewal. This allows clients to order domain renewals at any time they wish, for example early before the regular automatic invoicing has sent an invoice for the domain being due soon. Below is how the domain renewals category would look for a client with 4 domains, 1 expired, 1 in the redemption period and 2 not yet due for renewal. Then after selecting the domains they want to renew and choosing the period for each one, submitting will add those renewals to the cart and show the usual cart summary page that everyone is used to. The customer can then continue shopping for more items, go back and renew other domains or change the renewal period they've chosen, or checkout & pay to complete the process. In addition, by using the cart this opens up domain renewals to being able to have promotion codes applied and therefore gives you the added option of offering domain renewal incentives & sales to attract early renewals.
