ffeingol
One of our people entered an order today for a client. The product is 40.00 USD / month. Prorata Date is 1, Charge Next Month is 15. WHMCS calculated the invoice as 36.13 instead of the full 40.00. After doing a bit of math the system 'appears' to have pro-rated the invoice with the following calculation: 40.00 (monthly price) * ( 28 (days left in Feb) / 31 (days in a month??) = 36.129 or 36.13 rounded.
Iceman
We noticed the same. It appears it assumes each month is 31 days. Ideally it should consider the ACTUAL month that the billing is taking place in, and use either 28,30,31 days accordingly. WHMCS CEO Matt Posted February 3, 2010 WHMCS CEO Share Posted February 3, 2010 Prorata calculations are based on an average month currently but with a short month like this one, that can result in some odd values. So we have now written an update to use the current months days in the calculation (available before the next release on request). ffeingol
Why would the calculation not always be based on the actual number of days in the month (or months for a longer term product). We sell some products (fibre lines) that can be thousands of dollars per month. Any 'average' can cause the calculation to be off.
