Greetings I setup custom fields for a support department (website, due date of request, that kind of thing) and would like that info to be in the email that is sent for the notifications (the "Support Ticket Change Notification" email template, inside the "{if $newTicket}" section). That way, the tech handling the issue will have all infos on hands (in the email notifying him) without having to consult the ticket itself. Are there any merge fields for those custom fields in email templates? Also, is there a way to display the submitter email address in that email? Regards

One trick I leaned whilst managing my issue was that manually managed domains, for which I do not want redemption/grace (so those two are set to 0 for all my TLDs) and line removal, is to set their expiration to 00/00/0000. Doesn't work on every use case but worked for me since now the expiry of domains with a null date is no longer checked.

The billing of "free" domain and invoice generation
NickoLabs replied to NickoLabs's topic in Admin & Configuration Questions
I will reply to that, as I did manage to sort most of this issue out. The due date of both domains and products must be the same AND the payment method of both domains and products must be the same.- 1 reply

I just had the same issue happen. We registered our domain without any sync system in place, years before using WHMCS. So that the domains would bill at the same time as the hosting (two days ago), we set their expiry date appropriately. However, lots of "fees" were added the next day (the grace period fees), confusing our clients (because over 100 "invoice update" emails were sent to clients) and today all those invoice items (over 100 in total) were removed from the invoices!! We are therefore getting payment above the invoice amount and our staff don't understand why or where the "rest" of the invoice items went. We will have to probably manually re-add those items to invoices... And I cannot simply set those domains back to "active" otherwise they will generate invoices (and sent another batch of emails to already "grumpy" and confused clients). Is there a way to disable the removal of the expired domains from an invoice line? Or perhaps there is another way to better manage domains registered in third party within WHMCS?

Greetings I hesitated to post here instead of going to Support, but I recon it is working as intended. Therefore, I might actually need some help in better configuring my WHMCS setup. Let me explain the situation and the expected results first. So the last couple months, we added our clients to a new WHMCS system. Our hosting provide a free domain. So we first added our client, then synced their hosting cPanel products and finally added their domain names. Basically creating active domain name orders that would be free when adding them. Finally, we switched the Due Date of all hosting and domain names to a specific date. Invoices were generated this morning as per our automation. Alas, the clients are getting an invoice for the domain name at 0$, then a notification that this invoice is paid, and also another invoice for the hosting that they need to pay. It's creating a lot of confusion and a TON of phone calls since all those invoices were generated on the same day (oof). So my questions is : Is there a way to MERGE hosting and free domain invoices, even if they are basically two different "orders"? Non of the clients have the "Seperate Invoices" setting checked. Is my situation explained properly? Is there something I can do, improve, in order to minimize email counts and confusion in the future?

Yeah, that's also the conclusion I came to, reading on the subject here : http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?17897-How-are-late-fees-calculated/ But it would be great if that info was clarified in the Docs... In the meantime, I'll give your links a look. Thanks for getting the info out to me, appreciated.

Greetings I dunno if that is possible, but I know I've seen this feature on other billing system. Can I have a late fee that would add up each month? Ie: 2% interest / month Or are late fees a onetime fixed percentage (or amount) added to the late invoices? Thanks for helping me understand this feature better (documentation didn't give any info on that).

Greetings I'm a little sour at the latest update since I lost the work I had done for my email template (both default and French). The accented character got broken into <?> symbols, and today I noticed that the template are now completely blank, empty, even the Default one... Is there a language pack for French that includes WORKING email templates so I don't have to re-translate every single thing?

I have the same issue, since september 1st. It was working fine before that, but now it seems that eNom would need to whitelist my IP and my provider would also need to set up my account as a Reseller with eNom (and charge additionnal fee for that). Why did it simply stopped working so suddenly?

Thanks for the tips.So basically, all products are hidden and need a direct link to it through the host company website? But then, how do you name your WHMCS install? Simply "Web Hosting"? Because that thing show in all email and automated invoices... -
Greetings I've been wondering if the following scenario was possible: You have Company A offering web services, which are located in Company B. WHMCS is installed on Company B's website, but Company A wants a Whitelabel way to resell Company B's service. Is there a way to make that work? WHMCS can be installed on both Company's website, but Company B (Me actually) doesn't want to manage multiple WHMCS installation; one is already enough. Thanks for getting back to me quickly on that! Kind regards Nickolas Simard

Greetings Most hacks are done by robot initially, in order to test the most recent software flaws. The support ticket some of us got is proof of that; even if it didn't do anything (at least on my side), they TEST it either way. Should someone keep an outdated WHMCS version installed, they are at risk. It is very, VERY easy to find WHMCS install, simply by using google Search engine so after that, it's up to robot to test the common flaws. So keeping an installation up to date is the most easiest way to prevent hack/defacement. Edit: I think I found the patch that actually fix this support ticket thing (it fixes the flaw, not the people trying to test it). http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?t=42121 The patch is said to fix some Smarty templating stuff, which is the whole point behind the usage of {php} tag in the support ticket. I strongly suggest you keep your installation up to date, at all time.

Same issue with my system this morning. Nothing seems to have been compromised. I tested the support request system (I did to myself what the hacker did ), it doesn't decode the {php} tags (at least, on my hosting service). So my config file wasn't loaded or compromised. Upon reading the Raw Access Log (from the IP of the support querier), he didn't access any other file after this attempt... at least, up to now. Keep me posted on this current issue.
