Weebly FTP Not using TLS1.2 or FTPS

Recommended Posts

Hello,

We're currently using the Weebly WHMCS module through MarketingConnect to provide Weebly as a service for our client's sites.

Weebly correctly creates the FTP information on our cPanel backend server, and even properly attempts to publish. However, because we enforce TLS1.2 and FTPS for all FTP uploads, we receive the following error:

Dec 30 01:13:52 pure-ftpd: [INFO] New connection from xx.xx.xx.xx
Dec 30 01:13:53 pure-ftpd: [WARNING] Sorry, cleartext sessions and weak ciphers are not accepted on this server.#012Please reconnect using TLS security mechanisms.

Is there any way to modify the ciphers this Weebly addon uses? Is our case standard, or is this unexpected behavior for Weebly?

Thanks!

Discovered this recently.  It's expected behaviour.  From the WHMCS KB article:

NOTE: Publishing only supports plain FTP. If your server requires FTP/TLS or SFTP, this requirement will need to be removed.

This is not ideal: it essentially involves reducing the security on the hosting server.

Surprised that such a well-known tool as Weebly can't publish over FTPS.  I imagine that's who you'd need to raise it with, rather than WHMCS.

With all that data shifting servers, how does anyone maintain any semblance of GDPR compliance?

      Hello,
Is anybody able to assist with a issue I’m having with my WHMCS licence module. The WHMCS licence module is a module which automatically registers/creates WHMCS licences.
The idea is that you could utilise the daily cron hook point to run some additional code to check every WHMCS licence addon’s check the next due date and cancel the license if it’s in the past.
I don’t believe that this would be too difficult to code but I am not familiar with this. It would be greatly appreciated if somebody could code this for me.
      Thanks!

      Hellow everyone,
      1. Currently I want to add a button to reset the client's cPanel in the "action" hook. As I want, when I click on it, a confirmation button will appear, just click on "confirm", the system will automatically run the module "terminate account" then run the module "create account" with the domain name first. there, user and password unlock.
      2. I'd like to find a module or a way for customers to manually change the primary domain name within WHMCS. But I couldn't find it. Can anyone share it with me? I have no money. Hope everybody help please
      3. I see there are some websites that can let customers restart cPanel account (but not the whole server) I still can't understand the principle of it. Does anyone know how to integrate it into WHMCS? Or if anyone knows the reason why, they can share so everyone can learn.
In short, the above modules and utilities I have not seen anyone ask about them. If anyone can make a module, they can use this idea to code more modules 🙂 But remember to share it with me. I don't have the money so I can't do it, and I'm not a developer so I can't. Please don't scold me. Thank you for everything

      Hello there
Our company have tried a lot of WHMCS solutions and approach to get closed to out needs, some did the job done for a while limited and some get closed, but noting solve it all as we have been only adapting things.
Now we find a solution, a company out there providing this tool as SaaS that will cover ours needs at about 99% which is great, but it is outside WHMCS, despite they have API, but API plan is the most expensive plan there that could get it not viable for our company size to pay that monthly.
We are prospecting and get a budget from WHMCS experts, as we could decide that if being paying this SaaS monthly and eternally and not so cheap, we could have one module that inside WHMCS will access to all our clients list and whatever we want. If SaaS API do not math our needs we will need again to export cvs files from one place to other for WHMCS new database update.
This SaaS also has a an App that is very simple with only needed futures (which is a must) that will bring value added, but we could live if we got a browser module that is clean,... but for other side I have see that there is at list one expert in WHMCS app (WHMCS SMARTERS, as they have some apps for WHMCS...
So if there is skilled and serious developers out there with experience in app development, you are welcome and we will be glad to share more details. We are also open to start using this SaaS monthly for some months to acquire insights that what is most important for our needs to pass it to developer to create a customized module that will provide us everything inside WHMCS and use ours own hosting HARD DRIVE to avoid this SaaS to strike us SPACE  HDD and software.
We believe that having an app has an extra costs perhaps for maintenance, so we want a developer  that can point us on the right direction and most cost and benefits to decide.
      regards
