anyone using ox app suite ?

Recommended Posts

Is anyone using this new  ox app suite that is now available in the marketconnect ?

Almost all the reviews of the app on the play store saying it is useless , buggy and not working most of the time.

Not sure if this is just problems with the app or the email service in general.

I have used and sold OX App Suite before... It's actually not a bad product.  I actually dealt with it by the masses.  I used to work for Network Solutions, and I was a Universal Support Specialist there from 2016 until 2018.  Email was just one of the many hats that I was able to handle.  the Mobile App might say that OX is buggy? I will tell you however that the more expensive of those two packages that are offered through the whmcs marketplace is going to let the user use the active sync function that is built into open exchange! That is going to let those people who use that product set that up in their phone the same exact way the would set up an account for a Microsoft Exchange server, and it's going to have all of the same functionality.  Personally I would advise my customers not to waste the extra storage space on their devices, and have them just set their mail up through the stock mail application on their phone.  They are still getting all of the same benefits of the app without wasting extra storage space for it, and if they're an IMAP user, they'll thank you later... because their inbox is probably already huge, not to mention that sent items folder that probably hasn't been cleared out in a REALLY LONG TIME! lol.

Hi,

thanks for the reply.

Do you mean that the OX suite app downloads all email to the phone instead of using IMAP ?

Really wish there was a bit more detail on what is actually on offer with this. I recently moved my personal email to G Suite and to be honest I am not happy with it at all. Backup & Sync shuts down 90% of the time on my Mac and the email deliverability has not improved at all - in fact I think I was getting better deliverability from ordinary Gmail.

So, I am keen to try this out on one of my other domains but I have no idea on what to expect in terms of storage space or even whether you can only have one email account and aliases. The sales info is very thin!

if your deliverability is bad on g suite, then you need to make sure you have your spf and dkim setup properly, as that is the usual cause.

Also make sure you are not on any blacklists,

free gmail is not the same since it is not using your domain, so google themselves are constantly monitoring blacklists  for their own domain and banning any acocunts that spam.

You must have some other issue affect the google drive backup and sync as that is not normal. I don't use it myself, I use Netdrive, which allows me to map multiple acocunts and services as network drives.

I would say you need DKIM set up more than SPF.  however it wouldn't be a bad idea to have both.  I had only spf set up and i still had emails going to spam in gmail namely my whmcs database backup that i have going to my personal gmail account.  once i set up dkim on my plesk server then all of the email being sent from plesk started going to inboxes as opposed to being delivered to spam folders.

yeah, it is capable of using the microsoft exchange protocol, thats what allows it to sync email, contacts and calendars with mobile devices. so if what the market connect service is offering comes from a licensed OX server, then what i say holds 100% true.  between writing my original thread for this and actually going to the OX website yesterday morning, thats the only thing that i can think to add to that topic.

I think people do not realise that DKIM needs to be setup in every place that sends email form your domain, not just gmail.
I have forgotten to set it up in cpanel myself.

Definitely have both DKIM & SPF set up on my DNS. I can only surmise that it must be a domain name listing at one or other spamcop listings from my previous shared hosting IP address, but it's happened to me quite often since changing that my emails land in other people's spam folders.

I have had Google twice look at the problem with the Backup & Sync. Reinstalling ti works for a week or two, but then it goes back to the same behaviour of simply shutting itself down for no reason.

Anyway, how do we find out more about what OX are offering? I have gone over their website and it's also pretty thin on detail. What exactly are we buying for $1.29 (?) a month?

You can always find out in the Market Connect extension within your WHMCS Dashboard, or if you want to pm me, i can give you a link to a completed OX page sold thru Market Connect.

I haven't been brave enough to upgrade to v8.0 yet. All I really want to know is what the offer actually comprises. Is it just an IMAP email account using MX records, or is there a cloud storage solution behind that too? If so, what are the space offerings?

No offense snake, but that could be apples to oranges... not every OX product release is going to offer the same stuff... as i mentioned in my previous thread, the machine has to be licensed... and that also doesn't tell exactly what is being offered in the market connect packages...

sorry not sure what you mean by "the machine has to be licenced".  What machine are you referring to?

you can run a licensed version, or a non licensed version, the licensed version gives active sync and non-licensed version does not.  its a whole different feature set between the two

But that is not the version which is offered through WHMCS.
The version  offered through WHMCS is a  hosted cloud service like g suite.

but yet we are unsure of the provider? not gonna lie... looking at the ad that is on my site thru the market connect makes me wanna just buy my own OX license and fire up an OX mail server at my current datacenter... since i can get a dedicated server for $33 a month... it might just be worth it for me to take out a second one and buy my own licensing... i already constructed my entire platform for nothing... it wouldnt take much to add a mailserver
