Basically with legalised spam, writing contents for bots and not for humans, oversimplifing everything, offering limited time offers 24/7/365, giving false informations (eg. unlimited space, databases, viagra), writing fake reviews or sponsored ones, using .99 or .90 in prices, creating a website that looks like others and developing a fetish for CTA. You could also consider to create multiple brands just to cheat hemm... expand your audience. Most important say that your services are SMART and have an IA. Be nice and cool on LinkedIn and social media sharing contents crafted for algorithms.

I hate all this c*** but that's how the world works. We are all stupid and lazy. Anyway keep in mind that when I become a dictator I will abolish marketing so starting thinking plan B.

Be better at your job than others are, have extremely fast servers and support, be affordable, be polite, and offer referral awards to existing customers.
Oh wait, that's us. 😉
The bulk of our base comes from those we've developed websites for. We give them a year of hosting with a paid design, and then make them as happy as we can with the service. They tend to stay a really long time as a result. Many of those referred others.

It's a crowded market, and you're asking this where other hosts/providers gather. The odds of someone sharing an easy technique that works really well is slim, but it's the usual methods that have always worked. Get your name out there via social media, advertise, participate knowledgeably in places where customers might hang out looking for providers and so on. Pound the pavement in your local area and talk with business owners. Have something to show them they can hang on to, like brochures. On the brochure have a QR code they can use to hit up your beautiful responsively designed website easily...and brand everything.

It's not magic, it's hard work. Harder every day, in fact.
