When are we going to be able to add clients to more than one client groups? I know I'm not the only one who wants this, and it seems such an obvious requirement.

there might be 30+ users wanting it over the last 5 years...

that first one is over 5 years old, so I guess it's about due for completion. waiting.gif

i'm assuming your question was rhetorical because WHMCS won't tell you until they know themselves... e.g if it's not in the v7.7 betas, then you're looking at v8 - I can't believe (but dread) this v7 caravan can go on for much longer.

I would recommend that anyone interested in this feature to vote and add your thoughts/opinions to the feature request.  While we do not implement features based solely on their popularity, requests that get a lot of traction in our feature requests tracker do get reviewed by our team.

I bet there's more than 30, but most haven't bothered posting to the group.

undoubtedly there are - some users won't bother; some will have posted to the smaller request... others will have seen that it's five years old and found alternative custom solutions.

care to define 'a lot of traction' ?

at the very least, you should combine the two above requests into one as it's pointless to have two separate thread requests for the same thing.

Those of us that have been here a long while have noticed that the obscurity and difficulty of participating in that feature request section leaves people not bothering. If they do bother, most of the features aren't then implemented unless a lot more people participate. I do have a question, though; what do you feel is the difference between "traction" and "popularity" in this context?
I mean, if a lot of users say they want it, that makes it "popular" and at the same time gives it "traction", I'd say. How do *you* define those?

The hook assigns clients to groups based on the number of active domains in their accounts (Active, Grace and Redemption). This is particularly useful for Domain Pricing slabs. Let's take this code as example.
$groups['1'] = '10'; $groups['2'] = '25'; $groups['3'] = '100'; The key of $groups array (eg. ['1']) represents the ID of the group while the value the number of active domains. According to the above configuration, here is what happens:
Customer A has 10 domains. He goes to client group ID 2. Next day domains become 9. The the customer is removed from the group Customer B has 99 domains. He still goes to client group ID 2 but will be moved to 3 in case he manages to reach 100 domains Customer C has 250 domains. Group ID 3 The hook runs with WHMCS daily cron job meaning that customers are moved (or removed) from groups on a daily basis. Optionally, you can use the following feature to add some restrictions:
$activeCustomers rules apply only on Active customers (boolean true or false) Get the Code »

I noticed recently by using client groups can have separate invoices for each groups.
But this seems this interesting option is just for domains, and it is not possible to create separate invoices in the service segment.
please help about creating separate invoices for special groups in WHMCS.
      thanks

Does anyone have an idea to solve this problem?
So client can choose whether they want to receive PDF invoice.

      https://requests.whmcs.com/responses/enable-pdf-invoices-for-client-groups
It would be really good if we could set up who will receive the PDF invoice within Client Groups, since almost all private client is Irritated by receiving PDF invoice where all business customers are irritated at not receive a PDF invoice.
