Email on Clients' Birthday

Hi,

 

I was just wondering how to do the following:

 

1) Send an email to the client on their birthday.

2) Get the date of the clients' birthday at checkout and use for this.

3) If the date is not filled in, don't send any email.

This certainly is an unusual wish-list-feature.

 

I don't see the point personally. Everyone knows it's an automated email - so it doesn't really convey a sincere wish of a pleasant birthday.

 

Each to their own though - maybe post this as a request.

I wanted to email a birthday offer to them though! It's a way of showing customer relations in a new way :)

Yes, I know that, just wondering how to do the email part :)

 

Also, when I create custom fields, they don't appear on the registration section at checkout. Why is this? Am I doing something wrong?

When you make the custom fields in:

 

Setup > Custom Client Fields

 

you need to tick the " Show on Order Form" box.

 

If it is already ticked - you may have edited it out of the cart template files by mistake.
