  1. Hi All, Using WHMCS V7.9.2 We have a number of our customers setup with card details in Stripe from a previous billing system. I can't see any way to connect those card details to our WHMCS system. We really don't want to have to go back to our customers and ask them for their payment details again. Thanks
  2. Hi! I have all of my customer's card information already stored in Stripe. I've looked around the WHMCS database to see if I could manually assign a user to a customer ID, but found nothing. Is there a way to manually link a WHMCS customer to a Stripe customer/payment ID? Thanks so much in advance!
  3. We recently received a notification from Stripe that an action was required in our Stripe account to lodge a SAQ-D self assessment to remain PCI compliant. This came as a surprise because it was our understanding that WHMCS v8.1 uses Stripe Elements, which supports a simplified PCI compliance. When I questioned Stripe about this I received the following response... Can anyone shed more light on the WHMCS PCI compliance situation and if the Stripe gateway in WHMCS really is using Stripe Elements?   5. I have had stripe for a while without issues until I upgraded WHMCS yesterday to v8 and a few hours after a customer complaint we were charging his card for invoices he doesn't wanna pay. I checked his account and noticed he has been charged for unpaid invoices due 2017 to present. I had a test account in WHMCS that I used to validate the system, in there I had various invoices I have created, some to a tune of $900. Today when I checked my card I have been charged for all the unpaid invoices in my test account and every bit of them paid. Other customers have been charged as well and all unpaid invoices in their account no matter how old have been paid. The frustration led me to deactivate Stripe all together as I was not sure what was going on and didn't wanna deal with any of these. I had to refund all the money back to the customers and myself. I called STRIPE and they said, this isn't their fault but my 3rd-party application is the problem and in this case WHMCS. What is going on? Why are all unpaid invoices being charged automatically without approval when we do not have any settings to that effect?
  6. My business is in the US. Our newly acquired book keeper noticed that while WHMCS is documenting tax payments, the information being sent to Stripe does not. After contacting Stripe support they mentioned that the 3rd party app ( WHMCS) needs to add a specific metadata component to be able to pass that tax over to Stripe. *** Note: Stripe is to not deduct taxes only categorize the tax for bookkeeping purposes These are the articles they sent me. https://stripe.com/blog/adding-context-with-metadata and " When you create a charge with the Stripe API, you (or a third-party platform, if you're using one) send the total amount to Stripe, without any qualifiers about what elements went into making up that final amount --for example, a sales tax amount, or shipping fee. If you want to break out parts of that final amount, you'll need to explicitly tell Stripe that. Otherwise we just see a total `amount`, and have no way of knowing what portion of that is tax. The easiest way to do this is with the metadata parameter on a charge, with which you can add any arbitrary information as a series of key:value pairs, which will be surfaced to you in our standard exports via the dashboard. You can also pull this data from Sigma the API [1][2]. You can read about metadata here: https://stripe.com/blog/adding-context-with-metadata If you're already putting these amounts in the metadata parameter, you should see this in your exports. If you're using a third-party product or platform to create your charges with Stripe and they are putting this clarifying information about your charges in metadata, you should see it in your Stripe reporting. If you do not, it means they are not sending us this information. You should reach out to them to ask about this if this is something you need. Alternatively, it is possible that the platform offers its own reporting on which these amounts are broken out, even if they're not sending this information to Stripe.   7. Hello. We've recently moved to Stripe and it's working very well for existing recurring card payments. However existing store credit cards don't appear on the checkout page. Do you know if it's possible to add them or migrate them all over to Stripe? Tim
  8. I just updated from v6 and from serverping 3rd party Stripe module. I made sure that all the 3rd party stripe files were deleted including the custom template files and replaced by six and standard_cart template files. So far existing customers do not appear to be affected. This is only for new customers and credit card changes since the update. First problem is that credit cards are stored locally. I read in the stripe documentation that cards are stored locally until after a purchase is made. After that it creates the customer and token on Stripe and saves that token info locally. That works as expected. However, it is also supposed to delete the full credit card number stored locally but it does not appear to do that. I know because in admin area "Credit Card Information" it has an additional field for entering the CC hash. If I enter the CC Hash number I get the full credit card number. Second problem probably related to first. If I check "Disable Credit Card Storage" in admin area then nothing credit card related works in admin or client area. I cannot add/change/delete cards from admin area. The "Manage Credit Card" link in the client area disappears. I cannot browse to it even if I use the direct link "/clientarea.php?event=creditcard" I found this troubleshooting guide (about 3/4 of the way down) by searching for another error I had only in admin area ("No Stripe Details Found for Update") and went through all those things. https://docs.whmcs.com/Stripe There are definitely no remaining 3rd party stripe files, templates or changes anywhere. I can get around that error by enter credit card in client area so that error only happens in admin area and no I do not have any admin area customizations.

I've been seeing a few processing issues with reporting statuses, on: Client > Invoices > Invoice # I finally had to double check and compare my local/stipe.com previous 4 weeks data... because it'd be horrible if these statuses were correct! here's a few examples of what I've been seeing, on the Transaction History section (bottom of paid invoices). and these are *all* reporting as being *PAID*. i haven't looked through everything in detail, but they (so far) appear to all be paid. looks as though the status & descriptions simply aren't matching up in our admin area.   10. Hi, We've just moved over to using WHMCS as our billing system and we have a number of existing customers who we charge through our Stripe account. I can get their cus_ and pm_ ID's out of Stripe and I would like to be able to add them directly to client records. I'm guessing that this has to be done through the database. Looking at our MySQL db, I think that I have to add JSON into the form {"customer":"cus_XXXXXXXXXXX","method":"pm_XXXXXXXXXXXXX"} into tblcreditcards.card_data The JSON appears to have been encrypted as a BLOB . I'm happy writting MySQL queries to inject the data but how do i correctly encrypt the JSON package so that WHMCS will read it correctly. Thanks Kieran
  11. Hello, I have updated to 7.8 and found that Stripe isn't working at all for me. I see that just a generic error message in the browser console. Error I have already created a support ticket and haven't received any solution yet. WHMCS's support team suspect that some core files are missing. Then I have installed a fresh copy using both Softaculous and a downloaded copy from WHMCS. I still see the same issue. Interestingly, during the beta testing everything was so good. @WHMCS STAFF(S), Please help me to solve here or via the Ticket #VVQ-828357. I have waited longer than I could, can't wait for more.
  12. Hello I have integrated stripe into WHMCS and it work perfectly with whmcs client area. We have our own client area using WHMCS API, but when we click on "PayNow" in invoice it will re directs to WHMCS client area for payment instead of Stripe payment gateway. Currently I'm using paypal because it will re direct to their gateway for payment. Is there any solution in whmcs or in stripe?

  15. Hi there! Just wondering whether this is possible... When using the Stripe module, if a client has a credit card token saved, when paying an invoice they are given two options: Use existing card Use a new card If they choose to use a new card, the new card details override the existing saved credit card. Is there a way to give the client an option to use the new card as a once-off payment and not change the saved card details? I've got the following options ticked: Disable Credit Card Storage Allow Client CC Removal Thanks!

  17. Hello, I found myself in quite a mess a few days back which resulted in a complete reinstall of my WHMCS, including setting up a new database. I did the tedious work of importing invoices, logs, and tickets from an sql dump of my old database, as I couldn't import the entire sql file due to some serious errors. I used Stripe as my payment gateway. Is there a way to get my client's stripe tokens back into WHMCS so that they don't have to re-enter their credit card info for their next invoice to process? Sidebar question: If I enable the option to disable credit card storage, will clients have to re-enter their credit card information everytime they want to pay?
  18. Merchant account raising their rates, and I am considering migrating to Stripe from merchant account and auth.net. Very interested in recent experience others have had with such a migration. (FWIW a couple hundred monthly clients, and in our situation, clients don't use WHMCS - it's all done by our own staff.) Thanks - Bill

Hi All, I am seeing this very very often now from clients, when they have a saved CC with strip and they try to use it they get the error message "could not find payment information" See attached. Does anyone have any ideas how i could fix this? I checked their accounts and the saved CC details are there.

  22. When trying to update a customers card via the Admin area the customer is deleted from our Stripe Account. The logs show an API call that updates the card followed by an immediate call to delete the customer.

  24. I am having problems with the stripe gateway module. When a customer goes to checkout and enters their CC info (not using saved card) and submits, an error saying that the expiration date is not valid is shown. The only way I have been able to get it to work is to go to Manage Credit Card in client area and add a credit card there. Then go back to shopping cart and select Use Existing Card. The order will go through OK doing it this way. Any idea what is wrong here? This is for WHMCS version 7.4.1.
  25. When trying to update a card I keep getting this error: The following errors occurred: Remote Transaction Failure. Please Contact Support. I have gotten a couple times before. This transaction was an AMEX if that matters. I'm using the latest stable version of WHMCS and most other payments go through fine. When I check stripe the transaction never makes it to their system because they have never record of it. Any idea how to trouble shoot this? Maybe an error log with more details somewhere?
